Hi Folks
My Niece, Jenny from Brighton has just put me on to your site. Jim, her dad, and I are sons of Ron and Doris Grozier from Farncombe Surrey. Dad (Ron)was the umpteenth son of Bob who spoke with a broad unintelligable Glaswegian accent and died around 1957 I think.
Some years ago Jim went North of the border and did some family tree research, maybe he still has the notes all I remember is that Bob was originally from Linlithgow so perhaps that\'s a clue as to where we fit in.
I\'m working in London as a licensed taxi driver so if any of you are passing thru it would be a pleasure to give you a lift.
kind regards
Will

I have his death down as 1955 - which seems reasonable as all I remember is climbing up onto his lap which seemed about 10 feet high to me then. I don't *remember* the accent but have been told about it.
When I went to Linlithgow in 1970 there was an Elizabeth Grozier there, she was quite old even then. I think at the time I knew what relation she was to our grandad (Robert Hamilton Grozier, b. 1873) but I didn't write anything down and have since forgotten. All I have on him is that he married Emma Elizabeth Smart (1879-1957; that would seem reasonable as I know she outlived him) and they had 14 children.
We were always told that the name came from Spain, but I don't know where that idea comes from. I only recently discovered that it is common in France, as a result of sitting next to a Mademoiselle Crozier on a plane, whom the airline people had assumed was my wife!

Just noticed the name on the gravestone! Dad had a younger sister "Cissie" whose full name was Cornelia Newlands Dixon Grozier (although the spelling could easily have been Dickson as it was passed on to us orally) - so there must be some sort of a link.
She was born in 1919 and may still be alive. She married a man named Edward Illes.
Jim.

Looking for family
Hi, I found this site when I did a Google search on my late father, Robert C. Grozier. My name is Vance Jeffrey Grozier, from Bethlehem PA. My grandparents, Delmar and Elmira Grozier of Berwick PA, are the extent of my family knowledge. My father had 3 brothers: Wilbur, Richard, and Barry. He also had a sister: Dawn. I remember reading an encyclopedia in my grandmothers living room detailing a distant relative from France who came to the U.S as a music teacher. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
